Workshop (Empowering Students Professionally)
The Information Technology Center, in cooperation with the Moon Gate Company, held a training workshop for university students in the field of information and communication technology for the departments (computer science, computer engineering, control and systems engineering, communications engineering) on Thursday, 30/6/2022, in the center’s central hall, in the presence of University of Technology students
The workshop covered several important topics:
- Steps to be followed by students in developing their career path
- The responsibilities of the private sector in empowering students
- Responsibilities of the public sector in empowering students
- How to reduce the gap between what the students possesses from the basics and requirements of the labor market
- Summer training program offered by Moon Gate Company
- Introducing students to the importance of obtaining accredited international certificates.

During the 8-day program, the participants will:
- receive entry level and advanced courses on key technologies, including
5G, cloud computing and AI
- hear from Huawei experts, external entrepreneurs, professors or
scientists who will share perspectives on a wide range of topics from
cyber security to aerospace industry
- immerse in an interactive and dynamic classroom where group discussion, debate, round table dialogues will be arranged to ensure cross-cultural exchanges with fellows from other countries
- participate in “Tech4Good” group project to increase social entrepreneurship, build problem solving and leadership skills through team work, and deepen sense of social responsibility. Finally, you will have a chance to register for global competition and use your own innovation to compete with all the other technological works created by students around the world. Winners can get our amazing prizes.
- get a glimpse at Huawei’s history and technological developments including virtual tours of Huawei exhibition halls, campus and stores
- You will officially join the alumni community where exclusive webinars, round table dialogue, celebration event etc. will be held all year round to strengthen the sense of belonging.
Who are we looking for?
To be considered for Huawei’s ‘Seeds for the Future’ program in 2022, applicants will need to match the following criteria:
- College undergraduates or fresh graduates with excellent academic records
- Have strong interest in ICT industry, entrepreneurship and great enthusiasm for learning
- Have good English language ability
- Have willingness to participate in group project and global competition

The opening of a specialized global academy from the cloud services giant Amazon (AWS Academy)
The University of Technology obtains approval to open a specialized global academy from the cloud services giant Amazon (AWS Academy).
It is also always proactive in being the first in all scientific and technical fields, and not only in the field of obtaining advanced positions in international classifications and scientific research, and the belief of the presidency of the University of Technology in the need to support digital transformation at the University of Technology, and through the Information Technology Center at the university, the University of Technology obtained approval to establish Academy for the cloud computing giant (AWS Academy) Amazon, through the partnership with the American company AWS, through which the university can provide training programs within the global curricula in the field of cloud computing and its various services. The field of cloud computing, This partnership will be the university's goal in developing students, college graduates, and professors of all Iraqi universities and universities, and enhancing their skills in the field of cloud computing. which has become the most important element of digital transformation in universities and international companies.
Note that the representative of the AWS Academy at the University of Technology and its supervisor is Prof. Uday Ali Ahmed, the official of the Ibn Sina Division of e-learning, and his efforts, with the support of the director of the AWS Iraqi community program, engineer Ammar Hanoun, succeeded in achieving the opening of the academy in record time..
Workshop dependence the system of validity of the issuance of documents for graduates of the University of Technology
Under the supervision and direction of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Information Technology Center held a workshop of the electronic system of validity of issuance documents for graduates of the University of Technology in the context of the General Secretariat system of the Council of Ministers instead of the paper validity of issuing system, at the University of Technology / Information Technology Center on Tuesday, 06/09/2022, due to the importance of dependence the system to achieve the first steps of digital transformation at the university. The workshop was opened by the Director of the Information Technology Center, Dr. Ghassan Abdul-Hussein Bilal, and the workshop was delivered by assistant lecturer. Mohammed Sabah, and Chief Programmer, Senior Ban Mohammed Salih.
