A workshop on the legislation of the proposed Iraqi Programmers Syndicate Law was held at the Iraqi Parliament on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, with the participation of a selection of specialists and decision-makers in the field of information technology and legislation.

The workshop was chaired by Mr. Saad Fayyad Mouzan, Director General of the Parliamentary Development Institute, with the participation of the Director General of the Parliamentary Legislation Department, Dr. Mohammed Qasim Al-Mayahi, the President of the Founding Council of the Syndicate, Mr. Saeed Abdul Karim, the official spokesperson for the Founding Council, Dr. Ahmed Al-Azzawi, in addition to a number of members of parliament and specialized professors in the field of information technology.

The workshop discussed the technical and legal aspects of the proposed law, with the presentation of observations aimed at strengthening the role of the syndicate in supporting programmers and organizing their work within Iraq.

Asst. Lect. Fadel Abbas Fadel, Head of the Information Technology Division in the Department of Computer Science, and Asst. Lect. Abu Bakr Saeb from the Information Technology Center at the University of Technology, were selected to actively participate in the workshop and provide their specialized opinions and contribute to enriching the technical and legal discussion related to the draft law.

The contribution continues to stay in line with modern technological advancements, marking a new scientific achievement by our faculty member, Assistant Lecturer Abu Bakr Saib Isa, who published a chapter in a scientific book by Taylor & Francis Publishing.

The chapter is titled:

Asst.Lecturer Abu Bakr Saeb Isa, a faculty member at the Information Technology Center, participated as a judge in the National Robot and Artificial Intelligence Championship, Fifth Edition, which took place at Kelkamis University on December 27, 2024.

The championship aimed to provide scientific training and keep pace with technological advancements, with the participation of students from elementary and secondary schools. Cybersecurity the Second Training Camp

 

Under the patronage of the respected University President, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Hassan Al-Ghaban, and the respected Assistant President of Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Khawla Salah Khashan, and with the approval of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research / Office of the Undersecretary of the Ministry for Scientific Research Affairs

As a contribution to increasing students' awareness of digital threats, their risks and harms

We would like to inform you about the establishment of a scientific and recreational cybersecurity camp (Second) organized by the University of Technology / Information Technology Center / Ibn Sina Department for E-Learning.

In cooperation with the Department of Electromechanical Engineering - Cihan University - the Security Shield Center for Cybersecurity Services, is scheduled to be held in Duhok Governorate for seven days, April 1-7/2025 including travel days, as the company will transport the participants and provide them with housing and training.
